The City of Belleville has announced that its two cooling centres will be activated Wednesday and Thursday.
Temperatures are expected to exceed 30 degrees celsius on consecutive days which meets the activation criteria.
Anyone looking to get out of the heat can go to the cooling centres at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or at the Belleville Public Library from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are COVID-19 safety precautions in place at the cooling centres including mandatory mask wearing, screening and sign-in upon arrival, physical distancing and extra cleaning.
