A Globemaster plane from 8 Wing Trenton’s 429 Transport Squadron had to take evasive action after the pilot reported seeing a bright green object on the night of July 30.
According to a report in The EurAsian Times the Globemaster was in Canadian airspace on a flight to Germany. The report says a tweet by the pilot indicated the aircraft made a 300 metre climb to avoid the object.
Also said to have taken evasive action was a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines aircraft flying from Boston to Amsterdam.
Both planes continued on their respective journeys without incident.
The federal government’s Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Recording System says the bright green light could have been a weather balloon, meteor, rocket, or UFO (unidentified flying object).
