Search and rescue personnel and equipment from CFB Trenton’s 424 Squadron played an important role in the rescue of someone in the Ottawa River in Oka Quebec early Sunday morning.
Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre Quebec dispatched 424 Squadron to the scene after a person was heard calling at 2 a.m. from a location near shore.
The person was located and hoisted aboard an aircraft and transferred to a land ambulance for treatment.
Quebec police and the Canadian Coast Guard were also involved in the search.
