Belleville Council will be asked on Monday to choose a consultant to do a study on the Bell Boulevard/North Front Street corridor.
Staff is recommending that Fotenn Planning and Design be awarded a contract for the work, worth just over $336,000.
The report says Fotenn will bring an innovative approach to the study, with added value of significant public engagement and 3D modelling.
The study would provide some ideas and best practices for how to more easily accommodate new developments on what staff call a critical corridor for the city, with Bell Boulevard being the “focal point for large-format retail in the city” and North Front Street “serving as the gateway to downtown” as it connects to Highway 401.
Belleville Council meets Monday afternoon at 4:00 at City Hall.
