There was some sad news on the COVID-19 front locally as HPE Public Health reported the region’s twelfth death from the virus yesterday.
The health unit also reported two new cases and one recovery, for a total of three active.
The two new cases were found on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and were transmitted through close contact and local spread, with the other active case in Belleville.
As far as local vaccinations go, 81% of residents in HPE who are 12 or older have had at least one dose, with 63% fully vaccinated.
Walk-in vaccination clinics continue this week and you can find info on that by clicking here.
There were no new cases reported in Northumberland County yesterday, but the HKPR Health Unit is reporting three active cases there.
