The City of Quinte West says it’s updating its organizational structure to “modernize operations while minimizing the burden on taxpayers.”
In a release on Tuesday, the city says the changes will help “achieve the priorities set out in the strategic plan that was adopted by council in 2020.”
The changes include adding a new Community Services Department, which the city says will facilitate greater collaboration with its community partners.
The city is also hoping to build more capacity across all of its departments “to more seamlessly facilitate investment, innovation and high levels of customer service” and to hire more staff to reduce wait times for essential city services.
Recruiting for the new positions will begin in the coming months, with jobs being posted on the City of Quinte West website.
