Things in Centennial Park continue to ‘pop’ all summer long! Since the successful launch of the Quinte West Pop-ups in June, visitors have enjoyed delicious food and beautiful products from pop-up vendors. Centennial Park is about to get even more fun with the addition of live music and games.
Musician Jessica Yarrow performs Aug. 14 and 21, and artist Derek Arsenault performs Aug. 28 and Sept. 4. Both artists will perform from noon – 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. each day. Family activities will also be coming as Pieces Board Game Café joins the pop-ups every Friday and Saturday in August from 5 – 7 p.m. Oversized games will be available for the community to enjoy at no cost.
Residents and vendors alike have had positive experiences in Centennial Park this summer. Families continue to enjoy outings to the pop-ups, while vendors are attracting new customers and attention to their businesses.
“The pop-ups have been an incredible experience so far,” says Jade Arsenault, owner of J.A. Artistry. “My business has primarily taken place online for the past couple of years, so it has been really amazing to actually meet my customers in person, both new and old. It gives me an opportunity to showcase all of my designs and products in one place.”
Owners of the Forge Wood Fired Pizza, Leslie and Jay DeRushie are in their first year of launching their business. “It has been a really great stepping stone for us,” says Leslie. “Centennial Park is the perfect place for us to set up our first shop, and we have all the amenities we need to operate the pizza oven. Not only has it been a great experience for us as business owners, but beyond that, it’s been a lot of fun!”
“The addition of the pop-up vendors in Centennial Park only enhances one of our feature outdoor attractions,” says Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “We’re so happy to see all of these businesses thriving at Centennial Park this summer. It is great to have another activity that families can enjoy safely and responsibly.”
The Quinte West Pop-ups are open to the public at Centennial Park in Trenton every day this summer from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. For more information about the Quinte West Pop-ups, visit qwpopups.ca, follow the Instagram page @qwpopups and keep an eye on the City’s Facebook page.
