Individuals 12 years old and older looking for their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can to walk in to the Picton clinic (375 Picton Main Street) without an appointment.
“It’s quick; it’s easy; it’s safe. Get your shot on the spot without a wait,” says Dr. Kim Haigh of the Prince Edward Family Health Team. “If you have any questions about the vaccine or you are hesitant about getting the shot, drop by the clinic and a doctor or nurse will be happy to chat with you about your concerns.”
Clinics at the Rotary Club of Picton Hall are scheduled for July 21, 22, 27, 29 and August 2. Walk ins are welcome between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm on all of these dates. In addition, a walk-in clinic is scheduled for July 28 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
The clinics are administering mRNA vaccines for those 18 years of age and older. Individuals 12-17 years of age will receive the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, as this is currently the only COVID-19 vaccine authorized by Health Canada for this age group.
Please be mindful for those needing a second dose, 28 days between doses is required. Bring photo ID and your health card.
“Our community has really worked hard to get our case numbers down, but we all have a role to play to protect our progress and keep case rates low by getting fully vaccinated and respecting public health measures,” said Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health and CEO at Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH). “The pandemic is not over – and you can prevent future waves of COVID by getting two doses of vaccine as soon as possible.”
