With the 2021/22 American Hockey League season just three months away, the Belleville Senators will need to find a new head of their business operations team.
It was announced Monday that Chief Operating Officer Rob Mullowney is heading west and will join the Abbotsford Canucks as their COO.
Mullowney has been with Senators since the team’s move from Binghamton to Belleville in 2017, previously helping to launch the St. John’s IceCaps, who were affiliated with the Winnipeg Jets (2011-2015) then Montreal Canadiens (2015-2017).
He was named the winner of the AHL’s Ken Mackenzie Award in 2013, as the league’s top marketing executive.
The Abbotsford Canucks are the new AHL affiliate for Vancouver and have relocated to BC after spending the past eight years in Utica, as the Comets.
The Comets will continue to play in the AHL, but are now affiliated with the New Jersey Devils.
The 2021/22 American Hockey League season is set to begin on October 15, 2021, but a schedule has yet to be released.
