A Quinte West man has been sentenced to 66 months in jail in connection with a stabbing in Brighton last summer.
Shane Hamilton, who was 22 at the time of the incident, recently pleaded guilty to attempted murder in a Cobourg court.
All other charges against him were withdrawn.
On August 9, 2020, OPP responded to a reported stabbing at a Brighton address where they discovered a victim with life-threatening injuries.
Hamilton was arrested by Quinte West OPP on Carrying Place Road shortly after.
His 66-month sentence will be reduced by 18 months as he has already spent nine months in jail and will receive credit for another nine months.
