The run on construction in Prince Edward County didn’t slow at all in June.
Last month there were 96 construction permits issued for a total construction value of $23,158,919.98.
That beats June of 2020 when there were 91 permits issued for a total construction value of $6,793,496.
In the past month most of the construction value came from new house applications with 17 applications at a total value of $16,802,000 followed by seven permits for additions at a value of $3,520,000 and 21 applications for new septic with a total construction value of $642,000.
This time last year there was a total of 321 applications on the year for a total construction value of $41,972,740. In 2021 so far there have been 467 applications for a total value of $77,114,891.48
With the totals in for last month that marks the fourth consecutive month in 2021 that the monthly total for construction value has exceeded $10 million.
