The job of getting electricity to people and businesses never ends and Belleville’s electricity provider Elexicon Corporation had a very good year last year despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Elexicon had a net income of $12.5 million and made capital investments of just over $46 million in the five communities it serves.
Mayor of Belleville Mitch Panciuk says Elexicon’s performance was impressive but not only for its strong financial results.
“They dealt compassionately with people in terms of not disconnecting their power if they fell behind in meeting payment terms.”
Along with the City of Belleville, the other owners of Elexicon Corporation are the Town of Whitby, the Town of Ajax, and the Municipality of Clarington.
