Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting one new case of COVID-19 Friday.
That brings the number of active cases to three.
The health unit’s dashboard shows the new case is a male under the age of 18 in Prince Edward County with the cause attributed to local spread.
Seventy-six per cent of local residents age 12 and over have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 34% are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the province says youth aged 12 to 17 can move up their second dose appointments next week.
As of 8 a.m. on Monday, youth can book their second Pfizer-BioNTech shots through the provincial booking system, pharmacies or local public health units.
The province says it’s aiming to provide more protection against COVID-19 and allow for a safe return to school in the fall.
There was one new case and two active cases in reported Friday in Northumberland.
