One person was arrested and charged following an attempted bank robbery in Trenton Monday morning.
Quinte West OPP say a male, armed with a large edged weapon, allegedly entered a Dundas Street West financial institution around 11:30 a.m. and demanded cash from the employees.
No cash was surrendered and the suspect fled on foot.
Police arrested the suspect a short time later on Dundas Street West and recovered the weapon.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ryan Hachey of no fixed address faces the following charges:
- Robbery with a Weapon
- Utter Threats to Damage Property
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Assault with a Weapon
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Fail to Comply with a Probation Order
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on Tuesday.
