Quinte West OPP say two people were charged after police stopped a car with no front licence plate.
After officers stopped the white sedan Tuesday afternoon on Glen Miller Road in Trenton, they noticed cannabis that wasn’t stored properly within the vehicle.
The driver also had a suspended driver’s licence.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested.
Thirty-three-year-old Shayne Desormo and 35-year-old Ashley Scolin, both from Trenton face charges of Possession (methamphetamine) and Fail to comply with probation order.
Desormo faces several other charges:
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates; and
- Disobey portable red light – proceed before green
Both accused were released from custody with undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court in Belleville on August 9.
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
