Three new playgrounds in Belleville are set to be completed by the end of the year.
Council gave the go-ahead to all three projects on Monday night in the Stanley Parkette on Stanley Park Drive, Haig Park just further east, and Cascade Park, which sits between Tracey Park Drive and Cascade Boulevard in the west end.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk says each of the new playgrounds will be unique to their neighbourhoods.
“We had a really robust community consultation process online where people participated and they actually voted on which types of playground equipment they wanted for their communities. So each of these three playgrounds will all be very different, with features that are in keeping with the community.”
