Community groups, students, and health care workers are better off thanks to financial support from the Kay Stafford Memorial Fund.
Wednesday the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation announced that 16 community groups, six high school students, one Loyalist College student and 13 TMH staff members were given a total of $153,248 from the Stafford Fund.
Kay Stafford was a postal worker in Trenton who died at the age of 86 and left $1.2 million to the Foundation.
Only the investment income is donated to groups and individuals on an annual basis.
Since its inception in 2007 the fund has donated almost $2 million.
