The Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls from June 6, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to June 7, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Break, enter and theft
On June 6, 2021 at 6:54 a.m., police were called for a reported break-in at a Bleecker Avenue address. The investigation revealed the front door to the home had been kicked in, and property inside the residence was purposely damaged. This was reported to have occurred between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The unknown suspect(s) stole a television, a DVD player, five laptops, and a purse. Investigation into the matter is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have information about this to please contact investigating officer Cst. Collision results in charges
On June 6, 2021 at 2:05 pm., police were called to the area of Phillipson Road and Mudcat Road for a single motor vehicle collision. An investigation revealed a motor vehicle had left the highway, and gone into the ditch. Airbags were deployed, and the vehicle was towed from the location. A 38-year-old Stirling man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He faces the following Highway Traffic Act charges.
- Careless driving
- Driving under suspension
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Fail to surrender insurance card
The man was released on a part 3 summons with a traffic court date set for August 11, 2021.
Arrested on warrants
On June 6, 2021 at 3:08 p.m., police observed a man, believed to be wanted, in the Moira Street West and Elgin Street area. This investigation confirmed there were outstanding warrants for the man under the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code. Police arrested 32-year-old Ian Timothy Jeffery Beauchamp by way of arrest warrants on the following Highway Traffic Act charges:
- Driver fail to surrender licence
- Driving under suspension
- Driver fail to give identification
Beauchamp was also arrested on the following Criminal Code charges by way of arrest warrants:
– Attempt to obstruct justice
– Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (identity fraud)
– Failing to attend court as per undertaking 2 counts
Beauchamp has been released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking, and is expected to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 4, 2021 at 9 a.m.
