On June 5, 2021, at 8:19 a.m., members of the Northumberland OPP received information from a motorist who had come across the scene of a collision on Harwood Road between Pollock Rd and Daignault Rd, involving a motorcycle.
Police attended the scene and located the motorcycle and the driver in the northbound ditch along the roadway.
John Merrett, age 55, of Cobourg was pronounced deceased at the scene. A post mortem examination will be conducted on June 7 2021 at the Ontario Coroner’s Office in Kings ton.
Members of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation have conducted their preliminary investigation into the cause of the collision.
