The Ontario Hockey League draft begins tonight lacking the usual attention it would normally receive. Blame the pandemic for that as prospects didn’t have the advantage of actually playing games to impress scouts.
The Sudbury Wolves have the first pick and have already announced that it will be 15-year-old forward Quentin Musty of the U.S. Youth Tier-1 U16 National champion North Jersey Avalanche.
In an interview with Total Sports Quinte Media, Quinte Red Devils Under 16 team head coach Tyler Longo says they were able to practice and scrimmage with scouts often in attendance.
Some of the top Quinte prospects are forwards Cal Uens, Ethan Quick, Ethan Miedema and Jack Dever, and defenceman Duncan Schneider.
The first three round of the draft will be held tonight with rounds 4 through 15 tomorrow.
