The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League have signed Belleville native Shaw Boomhower to a one year AHL contract.
The 22 year old forward enters his third season in pro hockey after spending the first two years of his career with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.
In 2019-20, Boomhower led the Cyclones with 86 penalty minutes while scoring 4 goals and 3 assists in 24 games played.
Boomhower played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Mississauga Steelheads and Ottawa 67’s. The Quinte Red Devils graduate also played one season for the OJHL’s Wellington Dukes.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are the primary affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. They play in the Eastern Conference of the AHL, the same as the Belleville Senators.
