A StoryWalk® is an outdoor reading experience where a children’s book is deconstructed and the pages of the book are placed in different locations for families to follow a trail and finish the book.
During the month of June, pages from the book I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen will be displayed in the windows of 13 downtown businesses. Starting at the Belleville Public Library, participants will be guided by a walking map to read the book one page – and one storefront – at a time.
“This is a great opportunity for families to get out of the house, come downtown and read a book while discovering all downtown has to offer,” says Luisa Sorrentino, BIA Executive Director. “It is so important to stay connected as families and a community while staying active.”
The story will be available for all of June and the event requires no registration or fee! You can obtain your own walking map beginning June 1 by visiting the library in person or going to www.bellevillelibrary.ca/storywalk.
