The COVID-19 outbreak on the Quinte 5 medicine unit at QHC Belleville General Hospital (BGH) has been declared over by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, effective May 25, 2021.
The Quinte 5 outbreak involved a total of 29 patients and staff and was first declared about a month ago on April 27.
A much smaller COVID-19 outbreak in the BGH ICU was declared over May 18, 2021.
Visiting in all areas of the four QHC hospitals is currently at Phase 3 (RED) of QHC’s “Care Partners and Visiting During COVID-19” policy.
Care partners and loved ones can also continue to set up virtual visits through QHC’s website.
