Belleville Police responded to multiple incidents of mischief Saturday.
Shortly after noon, police were called for reports of mischief at an east end church.
Upon investigation police found that a man had committed mischief to the steps of the church and that he was in breach of probation conditions from two previous orders.
As a result, 38-year-old Belleville man Christopher Scanlon was charged with mischief under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation.
He will appear in court in June.
Later, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police were called to a home in the northwest end of the city for reports of mischief.
Investigation revealed that the suspect had left before police arrived but he was quickly found nearby.
As a result, police charged a 39-year-old Belleville man, whose name is being withheld to protect the victim, with two counts of mischief.
He also has a court date set for June.
