A new COVID-19 vaccination clinic is set to open later this month at Belleville’s Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
The new clinics will start running in the Family Dental Centre Arena, at the Cannifton Road site on May 31, with public health officials saying the streamlined clinic will allow them to hopefully administer up to 2,500 doses per day, depending on vaccine availability.
City staff say the location of the QSWC will make getting a shot more accessible for residents in the northern part of the city, as well as those who work in the nearby industrial park.
Anyone using the new clinic should park in Lot D and use the direct entrance to the Family Dental Centre rink to get in and out.
Appointments still need to be booked through the provincial booking website, or phone hotline (1-833-943-3900).
Meanwhile, HPE Public Health says it has given more than 9,000 doses of vaccine over the last week, with 43% of the area’s population receiving at least one dose.
6,225 people, or about 4% of the HPE area’s population is considered to be fully vaccinated.
