Brighton council has approved gun hunting on Sundays in the municipality.
Mayor Brian Ostrander says the hunting will be allowed in rural areas, not anywhere in or near residential areas.
Special provisions have been taken to lessen noise problems for residents near the water.
“In order to help protect those people and keep the noise at bay a bit we’ve increased our no discharge area off the shoreline of the municipality.”
Discharging firearms will not be allowed within 200 metres of property zoned Shoreline Residential.
Goose and duck hunting is popular around Presq’uile Bay and Lake Ontario.
