Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 15 new cases of COVID-19 today and six recoveries, leaving an active total in the region of 62.
Nine of the new cases were found in Centre Hastings, with three in Quinte West, two in Belleville and one in the Deseronto area.
Of the new cases reported today, eight have been linked to close contact, one has been tied to local spread and the transmission causes of six other cases are pending.
Fourteen people are currently in hospital due to the virus, with six in the ICU and five on ventilators.
There are also six onging outbreaks around the area.
On the vaccination front, 73,234 doses have been administered, with 5,756 people or 3% of the area’s population, being fully vaccinated.
In Northumberland County, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting 12 new cases since Saturday, for an active total there of 32.
