Motor vehicle collision
On May 15, 2021 at 3:30 p.m., Belleville police responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Pinnacle Street and Moira Street. The involved drivers reported minor injuries and the vehicles were not driveable. As a result of the investigation, one of the drivers, a 48-year-old Belleville resident was charged with red light fail to stop.
Public Intoxication
On May 15, 2021 at 10:15 p.m,. Belleville police were called to a north end neighbourhood regarding a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and located a heavily intoxicated female, who was the cause of the disturbance. As a result, the 56-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place. She was held until she was deemed to be sober enough to be released.
Warrant arrest
On May 16, 2021 at 2 a.m., Belleville police were sent to a west end housing complex regarding a male wanted on warrants who was believed to be inside a residence. Officers had attended the same address earlier in the evening but were unable to locate the male. The 47-year-old Colborne resident was located and arrested on the strength of the warrant which had been issued on April 28, 2021. The warrant was for outstanding charges for mischief, two counts of failing to comply with a release order and one count of failing to comply with a probation order. Due to the domestic nature of the charges the name of the accused will not be released to protect the victim.
