Two people from Brighton are facing drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Quinte West Thursday.
Quinte West OPP initiated a traffic stop on Water Street in Trenton at 11 p.m. Thursday for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Upon further investigation officers discovered the driver was driving on a suspended licence.
When searching the vehicle, police seized suspected cocaine, fentanyl, cash and drug paraphernalia.
As a result, 50-year-old Ryan Lord and 33-year-old Michelle Hodgson, both from Brighton, are facing charges of:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Additionally, Lord is facing charges for disobeying a stop sign, driving while under suspension and failure to surrender an insurance card.
Both were held for bail and scheduled to appear in court Friday.
