The Belleville Police Service responded to 76 calls from May 12, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to May 13, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Liquor Licence Act
On May 12, 2021 at approximately 8:33 p.m., police were called to Zwick’s Park for a report of a male who was heavily intoxicated due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Police officers located the male and confirmed that he was intoxicated and arrested him for his own safety. The male had trouble standing on his own requiring assistance to walk. The 62-year-old Belleville man was taken back to the Belleville Police Service and placed in a cell until deemed able to care for himself. He was later released on a Part I offence notice, charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
On May 12, 2021 at approximately 6:51 p.m., police were called to an east end location for an intoxicated male. They were told by the caller that the male in question had fallen and could not get back up. Police located the male and confirmed that he was intoxicated due to alcohol in his system. He was arrested for his own safety and taken back to the Belleville Police Station. The 45-year-old Belleville man was later released on a Part I offence notice, charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
Breach of the peace
On May 13, 2021 at approximately 12:58 a.m., police attended a north end location for a report of a disturbance. The complainant was calling about a female in the hallway of an apartment building yelling and banging on doors. This was the third call involving the female and she was subsequently arrested for breaching the peace. The 32-year-old Belleville woman was later released unconditionally.
