Some local retirement homes are getting a cash infusion from the provincial government to help with COVID-19 protection.
It was announced Wednesday that Appplefest Lodge and Golden Pond Retirement Residence in Brighton will receive a combined $55,673.85 with $33,667.38 going to Applefest and $22,006.47 going to Golden Pond.
Two retirement homes in Trent Hills will also be receiving funding. Hillside Haven in Campbellford will receive $20,650.55 andIsland Park Retirement Residence, also in Campbellford, will receive $53,463.80 for a combined total of $74,114.35
The funding is to help cover COVID-19 related costs at retirement homes including hiring, training, testing, sanitizing and procuring supplies to help prevent the spread of the virus.
