Belleville Council has okayed a new five-year agreement with the Quinte Humane Society to handle pound services in the city.
The previous agreement expired at the end of December last year, with council agreeing to a 3% per year increase on the new deal, at its meeting on Monday.
The city will pay the Humane Society $3,889 per month this year, with that cost rising to $4,377 in the final year of the agreement in 2025.
