Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 today, along with eight recoveries, for an active case total of 75.
The new cases are spread throughout the region, with three each in Belleville and North Hastings, and one each in Quinte West, Prince Edward County and Centre Hastings.
Six of the cases were transmitted through close contact, one is outbreak-related, one was attributed to local spread and the other transmission cause is pending.
Seventeen people are currently in hospital due to the virus, with six on the ICU and six on ventilators.
65,730 residents have received at least one shot of COVID-19 vaccine, with 4,564 fully vaccinated.
In Northumberland County, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting two new cases today, for an active total of 24.
