The Hastings Prince Edward area has now seen its 10th death from COVID-19.
That news comes from HPE Public Health today, which also reported 11 new cases of the virus and 10 recoveries, keeping the number of active cases at 72.
There was no other information released on the person who died, but of the new active cases reported today, seven are in Belleville, with two each in Prince Edward County and North Hastings.
Four new cases are linked to local spread, three cases are linked to close contact and the transmission cause of the remaining four cases is pending.
Fifteen people are in hospital due to COVID-19, with seven patients in the ICU and six on ventilators.
In Northumberland County, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting two new cases today and seven recoveries, with 27 active cases there.
