The local Federal Liberals are putting their faith in the incumbent Bay of Quinte MP to keep the riding red in the next election.
Riding President Susan O’Brien announced on Monday that Neil Ellis will run again when the next vote is called.
Ellis was first elected as an MP in 2015 and then again in 2019, after serving as Belleville’s mayor between 2006 and 2014.
He currently serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture.
A date for the next Federal election hasn’t been set, but there are rumblings that a vote could be called late this spring, or sometime in the summer.
