One person is facing a long list of charges related to the thefts of several vehicles and failing to remain at the scene of two accidents.
Lennox and Addington OPP say a vehicle was stolen from a business parking lot on Centre Street in Greater Napanee late Sunday morning.
Later that day, the vehicle was involved in a collision at the intersection of Shannon Road and Weese Road in Tyendinaga Township and was left abandoned at the scene when the driver fled on foot.
Around 6 a.m. Monday morning, OPP responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck from a residence on Shannon Road.
Then that vehicle was involved in an accident, crashing into a hydro pole and a cedar rail fence.
The suspect fled on foot.
OPP Canine and the Emergency Response Team were called in to assist in the investigation.
Police then learned an SUV had been stolen from a residence on Marysville Road.
Tyendinaga Police Service located the stolen vehicle at a gas bar off Lower Slash Road with a person sleeping inside it.
OPP say the driver collided with the police cruiser while trying to flee the scene at a high rate of speed.
A tire deflation device was utilized on Marysville Road and the suspect vehicle was blocked in by police on the westbound 401 on ramp.
Police seized tools, break-in instruments, stolen credit cards, a cheque and licence plates.
Forty-four-year-old Trevor Tucker of no fixed address is charged with:
Dangerous operation of a vehicle;
Flight from Police;
Three counts of theft of a motor vehicle;
Six counts of driving while prohibited;
Five counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000;
Possession of Break-in Instruments;
Driving while under suspension; and
Two counts of Fail to remain at the scene of an accident contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and was remanded into custody, with a video court appearance scheduled for May 6 in Greater Napanee.
