The number of new COVID-19 cases in Hastings Prince Edward was up this week compared to last.
A total of 87 new cases were reported by HPE Public Health between Saturday, April 24 and Friday April 30, compared to 61 new cases the week before.
One new death due to COVID-19 was reported as well this week.
Seventy-two people also recovered from the virus, with the health unit’s dashboard showing that 6,915 residents received at least one dose of vaccine over the last seven days.
4,043 residents, or 2% of the area’s population, has been fully vaccinated.
As of Friday afternoon, 20 people were in hospital, with eight in the ICU and three on ventilators.
