M-P-P Randy Hillier wants to get rid of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
The Ontario Conservative Leadership candidate says M-PAC is “an out of touch, out of control bureaucracy that ignores the interests of taxpayers and property owners,” and he would allow local municipalities to control property assessments.
The provincial government would have to make amendments to the Municipal Act for that to go ahead.
