Two members of the Apollo Barbell Club competed in the Canadian Junior Weightlifting championships over the weekend.
Elijah and Kayla Martindale took part in the online competition that included lifters from across Canada.
Elijah Martindale is a grade 12 student at Centennial Secondary School. He won a gold medal in his weight class with lifts of 214 pounds in the Snatch Lift and 302 pounds in the Clean and Jerk.
Kayla Martindale is a grade 10 student at Centennial. She placed 7th out of 12 in her weight class.
