OPP have confirmed the arrest of 26-year-old Charles “Chuck” Parkinson after a police officer was stabbed conducting a traffic stop near Foxboro early Sunday morning.
The officer was stabbed after a suspect’s vehicle hit a police cruiser at the stop at Highway 62 and Foxboro-Stirling Road at 1 o’clock in the morning.
The suspect ran away on foot and a major police manhunt began around Foxboro.
Before 10 o’clock yesterday morning a man was arrested hiding in a backyard shed in Foxboro.
Parkinson faces an attempt murder charge.
The OPP officer is in hospital being treated for serious injuries.
