Prince Edward County council will hear from a recently formed local organization focused on anti-racism education.
All Welcome Here is a rural organization for Black, Indigenous and people of colour, or BIPOC.
At Tuesday’s council meeting a representative of All Welcome Here is updating council on its plans for 2021 and is inviting council to make a clear statement on anti-racism.
Included in the deputation are suggested steps for council to take, including a complaint mechanism, training for council and staff, municipal equity and diversity policy and removing barriers to diversity on council.
Prince Edward County council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
