The Quinte West OPP has charged a driver following a motor vehicle collision.
On March 13, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP was dispatched to Mackenzie Road in Quinte West following a complaint of a single vehicle in the ditch. Police attended the scene and observed a white sedan with heavy front end damage. Police located the driver nearby who was uninjured. After displaying signs of alcohol consumption, a roadside screening test was administered, and as a result the driver was arrested for impaired operation. The accused was transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing where blood alcohol limits were determined to be in excess of the legal limit.
Corey NELSON, 34 years old of Quinte West has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). Their licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 29, 2021.
