Prince Edward County council is hoping to secure federal funding for a Millennium Trail launch point development.
At Tuesday’s council meeting councillors will vote on whether or not to approve the Highway 49 Millennium Trail launch point pending the approval of a grant application to the federal government’s Healthy Communities Initiative.
The initiative is a $31 million investment from the federal government to help municipalities transform public spaces in response to COVID-19.
If council approves and the the county’s grant application is accepted the launch point just east of Picton will be a go.
The launch point, which has been in the works since 2019, would be similar to those in Consecon and Hillier in terms of layout.
