Multiple charges have been laid after Quinte West OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle late Monday night.
Police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Bay Street in Trenton around 11:30 p.m.
Police located the vehicle at a different address on Bay Street and arrested the driver for impaired operation.
Police further learned that the driver, who was not the registered owner of the vehicle, did not have the owner’s consent to be operating it.
Forty-eight-year-old John Clarke of Quinte West is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration, take motor vehicle without consent, use plate not authorized for vehicle and driving while under suspension.
The accused was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday.
