Update: According to information released by the SIU, at approximately 9:40 p.m. an OPP officer was en route to a call, operating a police vehicle eastbound on County Road 18 in Roseneath when the officer saw a vehicle coming towards him.
The officer pulled over and made a U-turn and shortly after saw the same vehicle in a ditch having also hit a tree. The 62-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two investigators, two forensic investigators and one collision re-constructionist have been assigned to investigate and one officer has been designated as the subject official.
A post-mortem is scheduled for Monday in Kingston.

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating an accident that left a man in his 60s dead in Alderville First Nation Saturday evening.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., police were called to the area of County Road 18 east of Roseneath Landing Road where a pickup truck had apparently gone off the road into a tree, according to Today’s Northumberland.
The SIU was called in to investigate and more information is expected to be released Sunday.
