The Ottawa Senators have announced the team is parting ways with forward Filip Chlapik.
The 23-year-old native of the Czech Republic was placed on waivers Thursday with the intention of terminating his contract and cleared Friday.
The team said Friday that the decision was made mutually after discussions with Chlapik and his representation.
Chlapik was drafted in the second round by Ottawa in 2015 and played 57 games for Ottawa, registering five goals, six assists and 18 penalty minutes.
He also appeared in 148 games with the AHL Belleville Senators, where he scored 37 goals and added 51 assists, along with 130 penalty minutes.
