Quinte West OPP say a 13-year-old is facing some serious charges after a vehicle was allegedly stolen Thursday evening.
Around 10 p.m. last night, OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Dundas Street East in Trenton.
An officer located the vehicle on Dundas Street West near Avondale Road in Belleville but the driver failed to stop.
For public safety reasons, the officer disengaged with the vehicle.
Shortly after, officers observed the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and deployed a tire deflation device in an attempt to safely stop the vehicle.
Belleville Police Service apprehended the suspect around 11:30 p.m. at Bell Boulevard and Cannifton Road in Belleville.
OPP arrested the driver and learned that the vehicle was allegedly stolen from an address in Prince Edward County earlier in the evening.
A 13-year-old male from Prince Edward County has been charged with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Dangerous operation and Flight from peace officer.
The accused was released from custody on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in April.
