Stirling-Rawdon is leading the way this year as far as new construction is concerned in small Quinte region municipalities.
In January, 21 residential building permits with a construction value of $2 million were issued in Stirling-Rawdon.
Most of the dollar value was for six new homes to be constructed in a new subdivision in the village.
Also in the total was a $300,000 demolition permit for structures on West Front Street destroyed in a fire in early January.
Meanwhile, there were no residential building permits issued in January in Deseronto, just one in Tweed, five in Tyendinaga Township, and one in Madoc.
