The Wellington Dukes are announcing a restructuring of their hockey operations and management staff, after the resignation of General Manager Todd Reid.
Reid, who has had a couple of stints with the Dukes as a coach and GM, is moving on to pursue other opportunities within hockey.
The Dukes have promoted Head Scout Rob Ridgley to General Manager, while also adding the title of Director of Player Personnel to Assistant Coach Tyler Longo and naming Head Coach Derek Smith as VP of Hockey Operations, as well.
Smith also signed a five-year contract extension to continue to coach and develop Dukes players.
Dukes CEO Randy Uens says the team has been practising with the hopes of returning to the ice this season, but no future games have yet been announced.
