More than 200 inside and outside city workers are one step closer to their new five-year deal with the City of Belleville.
Over the weekend, 181 members voted on the deal, which saw a 92% voter approval.
The five-year deal is retroactive to April 2019, and goes until the end of December 2023.
There is a six percent wage increase for workers over the life of the deal.
City council will vote to approve the deal at an upcoming council meeting in March.
Monday, February 22 would have been the strike deadline, however last week both sides struck a deal, in their 22nd meeting.
City workers include building inspectors, payroll and permit clerks, office staff, parks and rec, including outdoor rinks and arenas, tree trimming and maintenance, bylaw, water and wastewater treatment and snow plowing.
